Catherine Mwangi is a Future Africa Forum contributor and expert. Catherine is a development economist working at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) headquarters in Vienna, Austria. Her role as a Project Associate entails supporting the implementation of the Third Industrial Development Decade for Africa (IDDA III), whose goal is to ensure Africa is set on a path towards inclusive and sustainable industrial development. Prior to joining UNIDO, Catherine worked at the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO), where she supported the External Relations,Protocol and International Cooperation Section on liaising with Member and non-Member countries.

Catherine’s extensive experience in international affairs also includes working for various Diplomatic Missions such as the High Commission of Malawi and the Embassy of Mexico in Nairobi. Catherine is a Kenyan national who is passionate about issues related to the youth and economic development and she seeks to contribute to solutions for Africa’s development challenges. Catherine holds a Master of Arts in International Relations with a focus on development studies and diplomacy from the United States International University-Africa (USIU).
