Ahmed Suliman is a Future Africa Forum contributor and expert. Ahmed is a Sudanese trade analyst at the Trade and Development Bank (TDB), based in Nairobi. His interests are in development finance and regional integration, as well AfCFTA negotiations. Ahmed started his career as a Africa business analyst with Manchester Trade in Washington DC, where he worked closely with NGOs and African Embassies on the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) and bilateral government relations. He later went on to work as an advisor to the Ministry of International Cooperation of the Republic of Sudan regarding World Trade Organization (WTO) accession.

He also worked at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) where he was a member of numerous research teams, including the flagship report Assessing Regional Integration in Africa (ARIA 9), and a non-recurrent publication on PIDA infrastructure projects. Ahmed holds a Masters in International Affairs (MIA) with a focus on international trade and development from Pennsylvania State University. He is fluent in Arabic, English, French, and Amharic.
