Kennedy Odokonyero is a Future Africa Forum contributor and expert. Kennedy Odokonyero is a Ugandan and currently working as a Postdoc Scholar (Plant Scientist) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia. Here, I am contributing to scientific research on desert Agriculture with the goal of developing game-changing agricultural technologies for promoting crop productivity in the harsh desert climatic conditions. Prior to joining KAUST, I completed a PhD in Agricultural Science from the University of Tasmania in Australia and concurrently served as a PhD Fellow at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture in Colombia (2013-2016). I was also a Visiting Scientist at the Biosciences Eastern and Central Africa-International Livestock Research Institute (BecA-ILRI) Hub from 2016-2017. My career dream in Agricultural Science became a reality after completing my MSc. in Agro-environmental Management from Aarhus University in Denmark (2011-2013). I started my career as a Biology teacher at Secondary school level in Uganda, where I worked for six years before and after (2005-2011) completing BSc. Education (Biology).
