Yaovi Sylvestre Ahouis a Future Africa Forum contributor and expert. In the past five years, Yaovi Sylvestre Ahou has worked on energy recovery from agro-food effluents and agricultural residues in Tunisia and France. He holds a PhD in Process and Bioprocess Engineering from the University of Nantes and the University of Abomey-Calavi. He is currently working in a private company in France, that engages in the processes of sustainable development and the circular economy. He also works as a research associate at the University of Abomey-Calavi in the Republic of Benin.

Yaovi is currently exploring opportunities to design a biorefinery process of household waste and agricultural residues, in order to yield biofuels and bio-based materials to meet some of the environmental and energy challenges in Africa.
