Hellen Abatoni

Hellen Abatoni is the Community Manager at Future Africa Forum, where she manages special projects and serves as a liaison between the Forum’s experts and partners in the private and public sectors. In addition, Hellen is a journalist and analyst with a specialty in African security and media and serves as a Digital Journalist with BBC Monitoring. Prior to this, she was the East Africa Regional Coordinator for African Women in the Media (AWiM), an NGO in partnership with the African Union working to positively impact the way media functions in relation to African Women. Hellen has moderated sessions on various topics, including gender-sensitive measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, as well as the Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit, a joint initiative with UNIDO and the UAE government. She holds a BA in Politics and International Relations from the University of Reading.
